CCUSA Notice Board
There will be a very short EGM at the October 5th meeting. There are just two proposals:

Proposal 1

Item 5 (final sentence) of the Constitution, the words “Cambridgeshire branch of” shall be deleted.

Proposed Steve Kent Phillips – seconded by Keith Coburn

... this would mean members of Hunts ACO can become officers of CCUSA (if voted in).

Proposal 2

Item 6 (second sentence) of the Constitution, the words “and any nominations for election to the CCUSA Committee” should be added after the words “or proposed changes to the Constitution

Proposed Alan Lamb – seconded by David Ellis

... this would mean any member can be nominated as an officer at the October or November meetings.

No other items are to be raised at the EGM unless by 21 days prior notification, i.e. 15 September.


There is a proposal that we ask the Whitings AGM for the Whitings fees be amended to read:

"40 per match, even if no play takes place; 60 if standing alone."


The 50th Anniversary Dinner will be held at The Cambridge Meridian Golf Club on FRIDAY 13 OCTOBER from 7.00 pm.

The Guest Speaker will be Neil Bainton, First Class Umpire

Cost 25 a head, spouses welcome. Reserve seats with Ben. Pick one each from

  • Starters
  • Duck Pate with chilli jam and melba toast
  • 3 Cheese parcels baked in a puff pastry served with caramelised onion chutney
  • Soup of the moment with a freshly baked roll
  • Smoked Mackerel with horseradish and salad garni
  • Main Course
  • Traditional Roast Beef, Yorkshire Pudding and Roast Potatoes
  • Chicken breast with a garlic and blue cheese sauce on a bed of linguine
  • Belly Pork slow roasted with a honey and mustard sauce
  • Sea Bass, Ginger and Lime Fishcakes
  • All the above are served with a selection of seasonal vegetables
  • Desserts
  • Choice of desserts on the day
  • Tea or Coffee with Mints


CCUSA meetings are held at 7.30 in the Combined Ex Services Club, Barnwell Drive (off Barnwell Road), Cambridge CB5 8UZ map link - there's a right turn immediately you enter Barnwell Drive - go past the Red Cross portacabin to the car park at the rear.
